River City Clocks Swan Shaped Glass Water Barometer - 6 Inches Tall - Model # 910-102 Feature

  • Swan shaped water barometer
  • Water levels change as barometric pressure changes
  • Use your choice of food coloring to change the color of the water
  • Hand-blown glass
  • Two year warranty included
The River City Swan Barometer quickly indicates any changes in atmospheric pressure. The air trapped by the liquid maintains a steady pressure. When high pressure and good weather are approaching, the liquid is pushed down the neck of the swan. When low pressure and bad weather invade your region, greater pressure trapped inside the swan causes the liquid in the neck to rise. If liquid spills into the beak of the swan then prepare for fowl weather! Food coloring is not included. This barometer is made with hand-blown glass and is covered by a two year limited warranty covering workmanship and manufacturers defects.

Glass Barometer with Etched World Map and Blue Coloring Poweder Review

See more picture

Glass Barometer with Etched World Map and Blue Coloring Poweder Feature

  • 6" tall Glass Globe Barometer with etched world map
  • Blue coloring poweder, syringe and flexible tube included to help insert the colored water into the barometer
  • Great Conversation piece and gift.
  • Instructions included.
This Glass Barometer will predict barometric weather changes by observing the rise and fall of liquid in the spout. All you have to do is to add colored powder to distilled water and into the globe with the included syringe and flexible tube and it is ready to go. The instructions are included. Reading The Instrument: Variations in barometric pressure are immediately indicated by the level of water in the spout. A low water level in the spout suggests "high pressure", representing fair weather. A high water level in the spout suggests "low pressure" and forecasts poor weather conditions. In cases of severe weather (or major storms), the water may even run out of the spout. How it works: There is "weight" associated with the high and low-pressure systems which bring about changes in the weather. When the storm glass is filled with water, air pressure in the main chamber is trapped and held constant. Any changes in the atmospheric pressure are visible by the rising or falling level of water in the spout. While the storm glass will not indicate exact barometric pressure in numerical values, it is still regarded as an accurate monitor of air pressure changes. Such changes can be visible on a smaller scale, as the instrument is sensitive enough to measure pressure changes between the attic and basement of a three-story house.

17 inch Galileo Thermometer, with 10 Multi Colored Spheres in Fahrenheit and Gold Tags Review

17 inch Galileo Thermometer, with 10 Multi Colored Spheres in Fahrenheit and Gold Tags Feature

  • Measures from 60 F to 96 F
  • 10 Multi Colored Floats with Gold Tags
  • Ideal gift
  • Duoble Packaging for extra transit protection
Galileo Thermometers are magnificent creations that make Galileo's 400 year old principle of relative density a functional reality. An accurate indoor thermometer encased in brilliant glass, the Galileo is the point at which art meets science. Galileos add sparkle and focus to any setting: Galileos are precisely manufactured. Each of the liquid-filled floats weighs exactly.006 grams more than the one above it in the cylinder to ensure a stately and orderly procession of ups and downs as the temperature changes. The fluid in the floats and the cylinder has to be exactly the same density for the thermometer to function properly. The fluid is non-toxic and non-hazardous, an inert oil/hydrocarbon mixture like mineral oil: Galileos are carefully packaged. The cylinder walls are laboratory grade glass, so sturdiness isn't an issue. A four-color cardboard box sleeve surrounds a form-fitted foam case that virtually guarantees safe arrival: This fascinating, functional instrument is the point at which science meets art. Four hundred years ago Galileo discovered that specifically weighted floating bubbles would predictable rise or sink in a liquid as the temperature of that liquid is changed. These decorative glass reproductions of Galileo's discovery have glass floats precisely weighted in.006 gram increments suspended in a clear, environmentally safe, non-toxic liquid. Simply read the tag on the lowest floating bubble to read the temperature - Each tag is marked in Fahrenheit on both side of the tags. The 17 inch measures every 4 degrees from 60 F to 96 F and is accurate to within 2 degrees with ten floats.
